- Adult Family Services purpose is to provide
customer-focused products and services to maximize the independence and
productivity of Ohio's vulnerable citizens, in order to strengthen Ohio's
communities.

- Child Support Enforcement
-
- Congress established the Child Support
Enforcement Program in 1975 under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act to
collect child support. The program's goal is to ensure that all children are
supported financially by both parents and to reduce the number of children
receiving public assistance.

The increase in the rate of divorce, separation and out-of-wedlock births
has been dramatic in the United States. There are more than one million
children in Ohio who are entitled to child support.
The Child Support program is a joint effort involving federal, state and
local agencies administered in Ohio by the Ohio Department of Job and Family
Services, Office of Child Support (OCS).
Social Services
- Services are provided to the elderly who are
in danger of harm and/or are unable to protect themselves. County
Departments of Job and Family Services are mandated to investigate and
evaluate all reports of suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation of
adults age 60 and over. Adults who experience abuse, neglect or
exploitation are offered supportive services, as available, for
protection and self-sufficiency.

required by the federal government to ensure necessary transportation
for consumers to and from medical providers. This requirement is meet
through a variety of programs and funding mechanisms.
